This will be the third year for this fun event. This picnic was developed to recognize all members for their support of the Park by volunteering their services for such activities as special events, School Tours, mowing grass, and repairing buildings and facilities, only to mention a few. The Park provides the main dishes such as deep fried chicken, potato salad, rolls and beverages. Members always bring their favorite side dishes. This past year the park brought in a talented one-man band for entertainment. Members and children also play popular old-fashioned games such as horseshoes and croquet. To wrap up the afternoon event, members donate pies, which are then auctioned to raise money for the park. This truly is the fun part of the afternoon with members trying to out bid each other for such popular home made pies such as blueberry, pecan ,and apple. Our outgoing auctioneer says, "The ski's the limit when it comes to these bids. Even though this is a "member only" event, we encourage members to invite a friend to enjoy our fellowship and a vast array of food and then to consider becoming a member.
